Instruction Manuals

Q: I have misplaced my instruction manual. Is it available for download?
A: Yes, go to www.fourstari.com, choose Instruction Manuals from the Supports Resources Menu, then pick the category for the instruction manual you’re looking for.

Q: I misplaced the instructions, where do I get the model number?
A: In order to be assisted by our representatives you will need to provide the manufacture model number. If you don’t have that number, follow this step to get the number needed for assistance.

  1. If you still have the packaging, the model number is also sometimes referred to as the Style Number.
  2. Contact the store you purchased the item from and provide the SKU Number that you see on the receipt. Then, they can provide you with the Model Number we need to assist you.

Digital Photo Frames

Q: What types of file formats does the digital photo frame support?
A: Most Digital Photo Frames support JPEG, MP3, WMA and MPEG-4 file formats. Not all the MPEG-4 files can be supported due to the various file formats that exist. Please Note: Please refer to the Specifications page of the user’s manual of your Digital Photo Frame to confirm what file formats are compatible with your unit.

Q: Why are some of my photos not able to be displayed on the viewer?
A: Most digital cameras save photos in a Standard JPEG format which allows the digital photo frame to display these standard JPEGs. However, some images (for example web page images, scanned images, Progressive JPEG image, Pixel Dimensions over 7Kx7K, or RAW format photos taken by special cameras) may not be supported.
Please Note: You can convert some of the pictures to Standard JPEG format using software such as “Paint” which is included in your computer’s Windows Operating Systems.

Q: What is the Maximum size of the media cards that the Digital Photo Frame can read?
A: The maximum size of the media cards is 2 GB that the Digital Photo Frame can read.

Q: There is no picture on the screen?
A1: Make sure the flash card is installed properly in the flash card reader. You may have to flip it over.
A2: Check that the power adapter is connected properly to the power outlet and DC input on the digital picture frame.
A3: Turn off the Digital Photo Frame and reinsert the memory card properly.

Q: Can I adjust the colors of the picture?
A: No, all color settings are preset at the factory. But you can adjust the appearance of the pictures by going into the Setup Menu where you can adjust the Brightness, Contrast and Color saturation of the screen which will effect the appearance of the picture.

Q: Why do some picture files load faster than others?
A: Higher Resolution pictures take more time to load than pictures taken in lower resolutions.
Please Note: To speed up the loading process, take pictures using a lower resolution setting on your camera.

Q: There is no sound being produced while I am playing my music or video files?
A1: The volume setting may be set at zero. Adjust the volume control.
A2: The file format may not be recognized by the unit. Please check to see that the file type is supported.

Q: Do I have to always rotate the pictures?
A: The photo frame does have the option to rotate an image, but it does not make that change permanently. The photo frame does not alter your files. It reads the picture as is. You will need to load the pictures that need to be rotated into your computer and re-save them to permanently have the pictures properly rotated.

Q: I purchased your Digital Picture Frame and it does not work. About ten of pictures will play in a slideshow then a bright green screen will pop-up and the only way to clear it is to unplug it then it will do the same thing. What am I doing wrong?
A: If it is a solid Green color, that indicates a corrupt photo file or one that is not a “Standard” .jpeg formatted photo file. There are over 30 sub-species of .jpeg files that only label the file name as .jpeg, unfortunately.
Also, photos that have a date/time stamp in them can produce that sort of error as well.
Try using your PC to open each photo file using Windows Paint, which is built into all versions of Windows. Then save each file as a .jpeg file. Windows Paint can only save as a Standard .jpeg file format.

Digital Photo Ornament

You Must be an Administrator?

I uploaded the photos I want to display on the Digital Photo Ornament, but it won’t allow me to save them. I get a “you must be an administrator…” comment whenever I try to save.
The thing is, I am the network administrator on my family’s laptop.

Pregnancy Tests

Q: What is the cutoff level of HCG that this test kit will detect?
A: This test will detect when HCG levels are higher than 25 mI U/mL

Q: What is One Step hCG Urine Pregnancy Test
A: One Step hCG Urine Test is a rapid pregnancy test, which you can easily carry out yourself. It detects the presence of human chorionic gonadotropin (“hCG”), which appears in urine very early during pregnancy.

For in vitro self-testing use only. For external use only.

Q: How does it work?
A: Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) is a hormone, produced by the developing placenta shortly after the conception and secreted into the urine. This pregnancy test contains antibodies which specifically react with this hormone.

When specimen is dropped into cassette, capillary action carries the specimen to migrate along the membrane. When hCG in the specimen reaches the Test Zone region of the membrane, it will form a colored line.

To serve as a procedure control, a colored line will appear at the Control Zone region if the test has been performed properly.

Q: What comes with the package?
A: Content of the test kit

  1. One (1) Pouch Containing One (1) Test Device
  2. One (1) Dropper
  3. One (1) Desiccant – The desiccant is for storage purposes only and is not used in the test procedure

Q: What else do you need?
A: (2 part)

  1. A clean, dry, plastic or glass container to collect the urine.
  2. A Timer (watch or clock)
Specimen Collection & Preparation

Q: When to collect urine for the test?
A: A urine specimen at any time is appropriate for Pregnancy Testing, but the first morning urine specimen is optimal because of its highest concentration of HCG for the testing process.

Q: How to do the test?
A: (4 part)

  1. Collect Urine in a clean, dry glass or plastic cup as close to testing time as possible.
  2. Remove a Testing Device from the foil pouch and place it on a level surface.
  3. Holding the sample dropper vertically, add exactly four drops of the urine specimen to the sample well marked by the arrow on the test device.
  4. Concentration of hCG may vary with each individual, therefore positive results may show as soon as 3 minutes. DO NOT READ RESULTS AFTER 5 MINUTES.

Q: How to read the results?
A: (Multiple Answers)

  • Negative (Not Pregnant): Only one color band appears, in the Control Line. No apparent band on the Test Line. This indicates that no pregnancy has been detected.
  • Positive (Pregnant): If distinct color bands appear in the Control and Test Lines, It indicates that you may be pregnant. The color intensity of the test bands may vary since different stages of pregnancy have different concentrations of HCG hormone. Consult your physician immediately.
  • Invalid: No visible band or there is a visible band only in the Test Region and not in the Control Region. Repeat with a new test kit.
  • NOTE: if the color in the Test Line is weak, it is recommended that the test be repeated in 48 hours.

Q: What to do when you know the result
A: If the result is positive (two lines) Consult your physician. He or She should confirm your pregnancy after evaluating all clinical and laboratory findings. In certain conditions, the test may give a false positive result. See also “Limitations”.

A: If the result is negative (one line)

If you have reasons to believe that you are pregnant (e.g. no menstrual bleeding), you can repeat the test a few days later. If the test is still negative, consult your physician. See also “Limitations”.

A: Limitations

  1. As it is with any diagnostic procedure, a confirmed pregnancy diagnosis should only be made by a physician after evaluating all clinical and laboratory findings.
  2. If a urine sample is too diluted, it may not contain a representative level of hCG. If pregnancy is still suspected, another urine specimen should be collected 48 hours later and tested.
  3. Low concentration of hCG in a very early pregnancy can give a negative result. In this case, another specimen should be obtained at least 48 hours later and tested.
  4. Elevated levels of hCG can be caused by a few conditions other than pregnancy. Therefore, the presence of hCG in urine specimen should not be used to diagnose pregnancy unless these conditions have been ruled out. Consult your physician for more information.
  5. A normal pregnancy cannot be distinguished from an ectopic pregnancy based on hCG levels alone. Also, spontaneous miscarriage may cause confusion in interpreting test results.
  6. Sterility treatments, based on hCG, may cause false results. Consult your physician.
Expected Results

Negative results are expected in healthy non-pregnant women. Although the hCG levels in normal early pregnant women are variable, Urine HCG Test is capable of detecting pregnancy as early as 1 day after the first missed menses.

Q: There is much difference between the control lines of two tests. Is this a concern?
A: No. Variations in the color of the control band will not affect the test result.

Q: Can test results be interpreted after more than five minutes?
A: No. Test results must be read in 5 minutes. Though a positive result should not change for several days, a negative result may change to a false positive within minutes after the end of the testing period, which would not be an accurate reading. It is always best to read the results at the 5 minute testing period and then discard the test to avoid confusion.

Q: A pink background color and vertical streaking appeared in the result area during the testing period. Is this a concern?

A: No. Each urine sample will vary in its chemical makeup, as will the humidity of the air in testing chamber (room). Such variations in physical conditions can cause the vertical streaking and/or the pink-rose background color, but will not affect the test results. As long as the control band appears within five minutes, the test is working properly.

Cautions
  1. This kit is for external use only. Do not swallow.
  2. Discard after first use. The test strip cannot be used more than once.
  3. Do not use test kit beyond expiration date.
  4. Do not use the kit if the pouch is punctured or not well sealed.
  5. Keep out of the reach of children.
Storage & Stability
  1. Store at 40ºF to 85ºF in the sealed pouch up to the expiration date.
  2. Keep away from direct sunlight, moisture and heat.
  3. Do NOT Freeze Test Device.
  4. Open the pouch only shortly before the test.
